The F1 car is a single-seater, with an open cockpit, front and rear fenders and the engine on the back of the driver. The regulations that govern the cars are unique to the championship and indicate that the cars must be built by the competing teams themselves, however, the design and manufacture can be carried out by subcontracted companies.
